If you are even remotely into fitness you must have heard of Kinobody or Gregory O’Gallagher – the founder of Kinobody. This guy is one of the most prolific fitness YouTubers right now, he’s all over the Internet and literally helped thousands of people around the Globe to get in shape by using his approach at eating and training.
Definitely, check out his YouTube channel if you haven’t already – it has a lot of lifestyle & vlog kind of videos but also plenty of fitness tips that actually work. Anyways, let’s get back to the topic – is the Kinobody Warrior Shredding Program any good?
If you are looking the short answer, yes it is.
If you want a bit more in-depth answer, read on.
What is Kinobody Warrior Shredding Program after all?
This is a nutrition and training based fitness program designed by Greg, which actually sits at the bottom of his muscle building programs.
You can look at it as being the 1st level (or the beginner level) out the 3 types of aesthetic physiques that Greg promotes. For the other two, more advanced programs you have the Greek God program and the Super-hero program.
Greg advertises the Warrior Shredding program as a way of getting that look Brad Pit had in Fight Club or Christian Bale in American Psycho. So if you are after that lean look this program is for you.
What do you get?
After purchasing the program you get access to members page on Greg’s website where you can see the contents of the program. That alone is a major benefit of the product – being able to check it out online at any time, anywhere.
So if you’re in the gym for example and you want to follow along one of the two workout routines in contains you can simply log into your Kinobody dashboard and check out the program. No need to worry about where you saved the eBook or training videos or whatever.
It’s all online and you can check it out on your mobile, on the fly. That’s a big thumb up.
You also get access to a private Facebook group which is great because you can always connect with other users of the program and get tips from more advanced people and see how you are doing when compared to them.
Greg also included in the program videos of all the exercises you need to do so that you make sure your form is in check, you are training optimally and you minimize the risk of injuries.
What’s the philosophy behind the program
What I really love about this program is that it is not that hard to adhere to.
It does a great job at it by promoting a balanced lifestyle where you can still eat out, have fun with your friends while still maintaining a great physique. That’s the main sale point if you ask me.
Most programs out there are the exact opposite, being super strict about the diet and the training which makes them hard to stick to in the long run.
With Kinobody Warrior Shredding program you get the benefits of building an amazing physique while enjoying life. And Greg proves that with every single YouTube video that he puts out. You always see him enjoying delicious meals, having a good time with his friends and just balancing the life & fitness really well.
How does it work?
Building this warrior physique comes down to a few essentials.
First off, the training is based on something that you probably know if you read the scientific research that we have available.
In order to build muscle optimally, you need to focus on compound, heavy lifting. And that’s exactly what the training part is all about in this program.
You have exercises such as bench press, shoulder press, weighted pull-ups or chin-ups and so on and so forth.
The rep range is anywhere from just 6 reps to 12 reps. So no high rep bullshit, it’s all about high intensity and using compound movements.
Another important aspect of the training part of the program is progressive overload. Each time you go to the gym (which is just 3 days per week), you need to push yourself to become stronger.
Adding more weight is what stimulates muscle growth.
Dieting is an essential part of the program.
If you don’t get it right, the program won’t work, period. Actually, Greg says that the nutrition part represents 75% of the program.
Since you are looking to have that super shredded body, you really need to nail down the numbers. Your calories and macros have to be spot on. Particularly the calories.
And Greg goes pretty in depth with this. He explains how to figure out how many calories you need to eat, how to track everything down. He’s a big advocate of Intermittent Fasting so expect to go long hours without eating if you plan on following this diet.
He even goes ahead and talks about more advanced dieting techniques such as carb cycling and reefed days.
Bottom line is that you need to be in a caloric deficit until you reach your desired body fat level and then maintain your body weight.
What I like about the program:
- It works
- Easy to follow workout routine
- Easy to adhere to
- You get access to a nice dashboard
What I don’t like about the program:
- Focuses too much on Intermittent Fasting
- The amount of muscle you can build is limited by the dieting part
OK, so do I recommend it?
If you are just starting out and you need someone to guide you step by step, yes this is a good program.
It will get you started in no time and it will save you the time you would lose by trying out things for yourself of doing the research on your own.
If you’ve been already lifting for a couple of years and build a decent amount of muscle mass, probably you will not benefit that much from the program.
You may want to consider more advanced programs such as the Greek God or Super-hero programs.
